If you look cloesly at that pic of mine, there are two axles under the front. The one on rims is the "new" one.

Hello, this is my first post on this site. Recently got a k5 again, on my third one. It's a 1986 all white w/ the 305, motor internally was bad, everything else around it from PO is new, got a mildly built 350 with vortec heads that I'm gonna swap in it. I'll post pictures up soon.

New to the forum but not new to 4x4's..i I live in Montrose, CO and there's plenty of 4wheeling around me so I just got a 79 k5 with a 6 inch lift rolling on 35's that I'm going to restore/modify..the body is in amazing condition so little to no body work is needed..I usually tinker with International Harvester trucks and scouts but found this clean k5 and jumped on it..I have owned 1 other k5 it was a 74..I also owned a chevy diesel pickup..I will post up pics in the build section soon..thanks -josh

Welcome to the club, Josh. :)

Montrose, eh? You're within spitting distance of @Metrodps, and we're heading out there to visit him this coming weekend.

Another newbie here from south louisiana, currently building my first 4x4. Picked up a 89 K5 a couple months ago, have the 6.0/80e in and currently working on the 1 ton swap. In the last few nights of reading already found tons of great information.
