Hello. I just bought an 84 K5,going to restore it, I’m really excited to get started , it needs some love for sure, it only has 112,000 miles, needs painted and carburator work, any suggestions from others that redone an 84 model? I completely restore a 1970 ck10 Chevy some years back. I like doing this type of work. I’m getting close to retiring in a few years. Been in the Natural Gas business for over 35 years, and this Blazer is going to be my retirement project. Going to gset started soon. Any tips and things I should be looking for would greatly be appreciated.

Welcome! Probably start with maintenance items first and see how it runs/drives etc., any issues will present themselves.
 
Not sure how I missed this section after I signed up and went straight into a build thread, but anyways I have a 1971 GMC k1500 that is getting brought back from a sitting and not being driven. Hoping to gain some knowledge and meet some new people.

In my younger years I did that cross country, with bathroom breaks, fueling and grabbing food to go, I was doing it in 52 hours flat.
I can't do it anymore without risking my life and others.
