I was wondering since the IROK 39.5 are radials, should I still think about putting Air Soft pellets in it for balancing?

Or since they are radials would it be better to have them balanced via standard lead weights?

It will probably take a good tire guy to get them to balance with lead. May have to rotate the tire, alot of places wont' even do a combo like that.

I say do airsofts or bbs or equal or one of the many other balancers such as that. I had some Iroks in the same size but bias that were balanced with equal and it worked very very well

Equal? I haven't heard of this. Surely you're not talking about the sweetener that comes in those little packs?

do it, get the heavy bbs. get four containers of 2000 and put one in each tire. you cant over fill them.

By "Heavy BBs" you mean like the aluminum BBs Obijuan? I have some that sat outside for a year and didn't rust. Good stuff there.

no theres two weights in plastics, .12g and .20g i think. i always get te heavier ones.

ive got em in my 39.5s on weld on locks, it really tamed down the ride.

these are cheaper. I know because I bought them today :D

I bought the 2500 count bottles, counted 500 out of each one, and now all 5 of my tires will be nicely balanced

Are those full copper BBs or just plated?

I am thinking hopefully not plated. :)

A mess? Where? In the tire? Not sure what you're talking about

Once they start bouncing around in there, I would assume that the copper would start to come off... If there's any moisture they could start to rust... Might be an issue with airing down as well as a mess inside the tire...

I've never ran bb's in a tire myself...

I'm not worried because the set up they will be used in is only going to be used for the next couple of years at the most. I already plan on getting different wheels with my next tire purchase.

I wonder if the copper BBs will make a lot of racket going down the road, especially at low speed. Of course, the noise from a 39.5 IROK will probably drown all that out.

I was thinking with wear the copper plating coming off and just making a mess. No big deal really. I don't think they would rust and clump unless they got wet, and then the tire sat for a looong time.

I think the constant movement would keep them separate but I was just think the copper flake mess it may make. Again, no big deal, it is inside the tire. :) And, I doubt is would cause any problems that shorten the life of the tire.

I am sure someone will post if they found a problem with the copper BBs. Me, I am going to use the Air Soft....Just in case. LOL
