Is $900 enough for a good 350 rebuild?

For this much money I would get a mild big block!!!

Plan on spending 3,000to 4,000 for a good 350 that makes some horsepower. I spent 3,500 getting a little over 400horse out of my 406, but I didnt cut any corners either which as an experienced engine builder I don't recommend cutting anything short.

boy... i wish i had a rebuilt motor......
i have always had used junkyard motors.....
slapped in a new cam/lifters/timing chain setup/rings, bearings and gaskets......

that is it... always worked great for me.... i think $900 and up is too much to spend on a motor unless you are trying to get perfection and a certain results and or for competition.........

hell i just picked up and put in my truck a 1991 caprice police 350 ( 9C1 )
Vortec block
hydraulic roller cam/lifters
complete for $600
just gonna slap vortec heads, nice intake on and my trusty '79 q-jet.......

This is my kind of 'rebuild'. Daily driver, I might do a little differant, but perfect for the weekend warrior!!

did you mic. the cylinder bores before you baught rigs ore did yu just get SR rigs? i have a motor that looks really clean and almost no ridge at the top of the cylinders. was thinking rigs and a cam and put it in /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif the pistons say GM so i'm quite sure it is sock bore size.
