Hey all just wondering if there is a quality difference between diesel fuels. Im not talking about #2 or farm grade but Chevron vs kwikemart. I know the big name gas stations offer techron and tiger piss additives to make gas better.

I get my Diesel from a no name station cuz its usually 15 cents cheaper the chevron. I see a lot of diesel trucks there so they arent sitting on there fuel for long. Anyway thoughts?

If you get to the nitty gritty of it, there will be some variance in fuel suppliers and their quality. With the ULSD that is now mandatory nationwide, lubricity can be an issue - the suppliers put lube additive in initially, but it can be inconsistent at the pump. As far as I know there's no good way to track who has the good stuff.

I dump a bottle of WallyWorld TCW-3 2-stroke oil in my tank when I fill up and don't worry about which stations are better. It's insurance against low lubricity, and doesn't hurt anything. I also have a really good water separator and filtration system to avoid those issues.

Conventional wisdom says that if a particular station sells a lot of a type of fuel, it will generally be decent stuff as it should be somewhat fresh, clean, and dry.

Ok good to know. I run dp Diesel clean in both trucks and seems t be working fine.

You got the right idea, always look for stations that have a good turn around.
That is where I go, most stations I go to have new fuel everyday.
I always use an additive no matter what, I found a new additive that is working great for me.
