I were to buy a bronco? Thinking about selling the blazer once it's running again for about 4k, found an 81 bronco, with a "rough body" but good tranny/motor for 300. Not sure what that means about the body, but I'm not to worried, for 300 anyway. I might get it to turn around and sell, or like I said use it for wheeling. My k5's ride is rough as hell, and never sees rock, mostly river (sand) and mud, and I like the bronco's front suspension for that. I just like this k5 community so much, and don't really want to go over to pirate!

Nah, that doesn't make you a traitor, as long as your bronco isn't a wussy truck..hah..What are your plans for it?

Buy Bronco , sell Bronco for more , buy softer springs for Blazer . Problem solved .

After a while of driving my IFS rig to work , I drove my Blazer again , and I actually missed my bouncy ol truck :thumb:

But it does make you suspicious. Certainly if you no longer have a GM truck:mad:

You'll notice little things. Like more "random searches" at Agricultural Inspection Stops. Delays in vehicle registration, license renewals.

Law Enforcement will pull you over for "Loud Exhaust," broken tail lights, tread depth, failure to signal, and forget about pushing that yellow light.

Sure, you are free to leave the "Family" but in the end is it worth the hassle and embarassment?:screwy::deal::rotfl:

I had a 69 bronco, I loved it! Then I hated it 'cause stuff was always broken on it but, I miss it. 81 though, I think they had TTB by then, ick, solid axle swap to a 60 isn't hard though! Extended length radius arms that help clear bigger tires when you turn will be cool too. I dunno, I thought about a fullsize bronco that was for sale for cheap but, I ended up going with the K5, I like K5's better myself. Just my opinion.

lol. I still have a 76 monte carlo, 94 vette, 99 truck, and family has xlr, 202 gm truck, etc. I haven't left the gm family at all.

I'm thinking 36" humvee tires if i can find cheap 16.5 steelies. That's pushing stock axle strength from what I've read (35"). Lots of fender triming, and either a 2 inch suspension lift or body lift. I should be able hopefully to put in very little money into it or offroad it. 9 inch rear ends seem to have a decent amount of strength vs ground clearance (mine with the 14 bolt rear sucks) and it seams d60's for them are a little cheaper and easier to find. It does have TTB, that's why its supposedly better at high speeds off road (I do more spead stuff).

I drew a Taurus rental on travel one time (the exception to Oldsmobuicks), couldn't find the right buttons. It was like being in a foreign land.:doah:

See! Just thinking about dumping your K5 has given rise to bad MoJo!:yikes::yikes:

You missed out on a deal! 5 36" HMMWV tires (yes, radials!) and 12 bolt HMMWV rims for $550 It happened while you were contemplating the DarkSide!

if you were looking at an old bobtail, id say it was ok, my bro has a 73 bronco and its damn cool, but youre lookin at the OJ bronco..... id stick with the blazer. but thats just me. one of my friends has ridden with me and her other friend with the OJ bronco, and she loves my truck, in all its road humping glory :)

I wanted a bronco till I drove a My K5 then I fell in love!!!!!!!!! I have never wanted a Bronco sence. I think My blazer rides better then a Bronco.

Driven Broncos and Blazers and hands down I will take the K5 everytime. Longer lasting, better performance, oh yeah and it doesn't work out to fix or repair daily, or else the driver returns on foot.

I have a 78 Bronco. 79 was the last year for the solid front HP 44. My 78 Bronco rides MUCH bettter than my 70 K5. FYI, a 9" rearend can be built to withstand an insane amount of power.:D

you could always swap the front suspension of a dodge into your k5. it's been done. it was on extreme 4x4 but they ditched it because of the engine.

another thing. both my uncles had 80's broncos. sold them. never looked back. both of them bought suburbans.

Early Bronco I can see for the small size. 78-79 I can see because they looked tough and had a good driveline. But an 81? What is that good for except rapid tire wear?

I have to different friends that have owned 80's broncos, ford = junk. In my opinion they are absolute 100% junk, plus they look weird with the top off they have that slant angle.

The only "trucks" I like anymore are K5`s and 70 something up body style Bronco`s [OJ style] . I almost bought a bronco instead of my K5,only the K5 was $50 cheaper...LOL.Turns out the bronco had a bad motor  . At my Doc`s the nurse [guy] was telling me about a truck he bought, turns out it was the one I looked at. HAHA he had looked at mine too,for some reason he got the bronco.Sorry to ramble, just a funny story to me.
