Is it ok to lift my Engine/Transmission/Transfer case all mated together?

I've got an LS engine, SM465 and NP205.

I planned on mating the engine and transmission and putting them in together. I would rather have the transfer case bolted up too just to make things easier.

I'm using one of those high speed engine load levelers with a handle that let's me lower the front or rear of the engine.

The heads are aluminum, I'm using 10.9 rated metric bolts to attach the load leveler to the heads, do I have to worry about messing those holes in the heads up with this much weight?

How about the bellhousing bolts? Is x5 10.9 rated metric bolts holding the bellhousing to the block good enough to hold the transmission and transfer case together while it's all dangling around in the air?

if core support off the truck and no hood you prob be safe . . . but still watch it with engine hoist might wana tip over .

if core support on truck = crazy if you ask me .

Probably ok if you don't need to go more than ~3' high or so.

More than that, the inertia of the weight swinging will flip it

I was planning on lowering the truck closer to the ground, like put the jacks stands on the lowest spot they'll go soI won't have to lift everything up as high.

Just be careful.
I've been known to strap old cylinder heads to the back of the hoist for ballast

Gotcha.

All the bolts holding the engine the the transmission and transmission to transfer case should be fine, huh?

I'm assuming they would be fine.

If I have to replace them afterwards it kind of defeats the purpose of me trying to get all this stuff in one shot.

so long as you balance the load, and like everyone else said, don't go super high with it if you don't need to

As long as you have something that can hold it all, you'll be fine, We've done it several times, A normal little engine hoist will probably fall over before you can get it high enough, I've got a buddy a 72 C30 Wrecker that we use instead of an engine hoist.

I've got a harbor freight one, I think it's like 2 tons or something like that. Swing down legs that you secure with pins and the boom extends out to a few different spots.

I'll rig it all up and see if it starts acting squirrely.

Hopefully not, maybe I can throw something on the back of the hoist to help balance it out

As mentioned before I plan on pretty much setting the truck on the ground, just enough space underneath for me to shimmy under and bolt the trans crossmember up, I'm using the trans crossmember being bolted up as a guide for my engine being exactly where its shold be and then adjusting my TNA engine crossmember to that.
