Thank you, I will check leaf spring bushings, great idea. Is your distance the same on both sides?Leaf spring bushings or the body’s position on the frame (there’s play for adjustment between the bushings and frame bracket holes) can also affect that.
I understand. Thank you for your advise. Sounds like you have fun! Thanks again@Randybt mine probably isn’t - frame swap, lots of fender trimming, spring hanger changes, etc - it’s probably best that I don’t check.
I’m sure it should really close to being the same but probably really hard to get side to side exactly the same.
Good morning Tim, thank you for responding. I don't have it running currently. Ran great when I parked it three years ago so we could rebuild the mess. We have been very careful with everything, measuring checking square etc. through this process.Try turning the steering wheel all the way left, bring to center and measure both sides. Then repeat after turning to the right.
Thanks for responding. No, I cant say its never been in an accident, wish I could. We have measured and checked just about everything, its square and everything lines up, I've got an inch and a quarter difference between rear of front tire and edge of fender. Could be common but I want to eliminate everything I can before accepting. Thanks again. Can you confirm its never been in a wreck? Frame damage could explain difference between sides.
You are correct, I've heard this many times. But, I have an inch and a quarter difference from rear of front tires to edge of fender, its also stock. Just trying to confirm before continuing. Thank you for responding, much appreciated .Aftermarket sheet metal ain't all that great. Your bound to see small differences.
Thank you for responding. I am dealing with stock so no lift. I am a half in lower on right side, the same side that the picture shows. The reason I'm so concerned there is an inch and a quarter difference from right to left. There is nothing obvious unfortunately. Thanks again.Check the height from side to side. A lower side will naturally have less gap and the "length" of a leaf spring changes throughout it's travel. Even if the front springs are brand new, a difference in the back will make the front kind of lopsided and it's also possible to have bushings bound up or a number of other differences.
