Is there a bottle of magic stuff that can fix my transmission?

Hey Roz your tranny should work perfect if it doesn't take it back to the guy and make him fix it. Another vote for the Lucas stuff My tranny is way screwed(kind of a cheap quasi rebuild it slips really bad) up and a couple bottles of the Lucas help it work alot better.

well he said it wold get better- and other problem is i installed it so i have to pull it and bring it in. He said it(torque verter) drains in to the pan-thats why it has to be checked while it is warm and running. I am an idiot when it comes to the auto-tranny, never had to deal with one . so im going off what he said.

I am an idiot when it comes to the auto-tranny, never had to deal with one . so im going off what he said. As a ballpark figure: The converter holds about 8 quarts, and the pan holds about 4 quarts. Fluid level checked with the engine off and cold vs. warm and running generally does not vary too much.....maybe a quart's worth at most.

I understand your situation, but the transmission should not slip/not have reverse when it is cold. The trans guy is simply lying to you.

Use the Lucas stuff. My ford was sliping 2 of its three speeds, I droped the pan and saw all of those metal shavings. poored in two quarts of lucas snd drove ot for a few weeks without a problem before having it re built.

Ok, it's only 6 months later and I finally get around to messing with this. My local Napa had a can of TransX, so I tried it and it has worked great for about two weeks now, and is still working great. Thanks guys.
