You get that fancy cool sticker below your username when you pony up for it, and you get an even fancier sticker when you go to the CK5 store and BUY it. Only technical advice in the garage is free, and that is only to get you hooked on the place to make you want to pay your $25 to get even more benfits.

Anyways, welcome to the site. It's full of some really smart people that love to help other bowtie owners. The membership fee isn't all that much, give up a case of beer and you're in.
There are tons of tech reviews and tech write ups that can only be accessed via a membership and I've used a few of them saving me much time and money. That and the fact of all the other forums you can read and review make it more then worth it.

Nailed it right on the head...The 25 Bucks is worth it man. When i first started building my truck i spend hours everyday searching the Internet for info, ideas, etc...No matter what i was searching this site came up every single time. Now at first i scoffed at the site for wanting money, but after a few weeks i realized that most of the free sites were either garbage or everyone was an asshole like on Pirate. I am a supporting member of a good local site Wheelindixie.com and its a great place, but unless you are lucky enough to have a great local site like that then this is the place to go.
Biggest benifit besides the tech is that no matter how novice your question may be, nobody will give you crap for asking. If you dont know how to change oil, the guys here will walk you through it and not make you feel like an idiot. You cant find that anywhere else, especialy not on Pirate.

I'm not upset at the guy at all, infact I wish him well in what ever he decides to do. if he joins us here, hey great, maybe he'll be able to teach me something new.

Stew I remember when a few other guys were new and asking the same. One that has posted here even was almost smacked in the but a few times because he had a smart arse attitude. He later saw the errors of his young ways and has started to be a pretty good guy.
I can only tell you many come here used to the kiddy sites with the mines bigger than yours and I'm smarter and better than you attitude. They don't stay long because their bs shows pretty fast.
I have learned a lot from the guys (we even have a few gals) here. Once you get to know the site and see the wealth of knowledge that can be found here you understand the cost is minor. To have the vast wealth of information and experience found here is well worth the price of the ticket.
Many guys have found a true brother hood amongst the members here. Two years ago I took my bucket list trip and if wouldn't of been for so many members here I never would of been able to do it.
I knew that if I needed help on the road I had a network of people I could depend on. If you choose to stay welcome to the addiction. If you choose to go else where good luck in you endeavors.
OH yea the members have free drawing for cash and truck parts from vendors.
