I believe the floor behind the front seats is a different height.

I have an 85 cab on my 78 chassis
with 78 front clip

I had a '77 GMC that the previous owner swapped a '85 cab onto it ,it was a 2wd cab and the truck was a 4x4 so the floor tunnel had to be modified to allow a NP-205 to be installed (I put that in it,it had a NP-203 when I bought it)...
I recall the rear cab mount bushings being taller than the ones on another mid 70's 4x4 I had that was all original..other than that it was a bolt on deal..

I put some 91 seats in
couple holes lined up but not all
