Guy sold them out from under me. Said a guy came and bought the 14-bolt for $250 and if I wanted the D44 he'd sell it to me for $200.

Found a 14-bolt that already has a locker and 4.56 gears for $125, so going to try and grab that one night this week.

i didnt think it was a good deal anyway.. now that 14b for $125.. now that is a score.. i paid $475 for just my detroit!!!!! but my 14b came with 4.56 in the truck..

I just got off the phone with the guy who has the 14bff, he said he was sorry he told me wrong but it has a gov-lock and not a locker. I figure $125 for a 14bff with a gov-lock and 4.56s is still a steal so I bought it. Going to pick it up one night this week. 
The Gov-Lock is a locker...sorta. Sorta has some limited slip function.
Some folks on here say the 14FF Gov-Lock is better than the smaller versions simply due to it's larger size. Never had one myself but do have a buddy who's beat on one for over a decade on tires 33's and larger with no issues.

Picked up the axle last night. It needs to be cleaned up and put back together, but it is complete other than the axle shafts. I'm going to clean it up, shave it, paint it, convert it to disc brakes, and then make my own nice diffy cover for it.
I had one in my crewcab and beat on it hard with 33" tires, never missed a beat, and I also know a guy who ran it with 38" tires and never had a problem.
so yeah a 14bff govloc is not a gov bomb.
