I stopped by to talk to a buddy of mine today to ask about a 60 but he said all he had was his old mud truck 4 sale....bascily no motor or trans but a dana 60 with crossover,513,detroit,35 spline outers and the 2wd streerting box + draglink...44 boggers on 16.5 bart monsta wheels (never been on the street)...and 14 bolt 513,detroit,and disc brakes...plus he says he has some kind of like a "big boys" front drive shaft the cost like a coule hundred bucks for a 400 208 double cv jointed...dont know nothing about that...he said he was asking 4 grand takes the truck...the truck aint worth nothin basically a long bed on a short bed frame with the front all hacked up..i have a pic but it looks diffrent now...he might go as low as 3500 cash is this a good deal...

are you thinkin about buying it and finishing it, or canibalizing it? if you are and are planning on just using the axles or what not, i might be interested in the rims/tires:D

for $3500 doesnt sound like a bad deal considering the axles have 5.13s and detroits and rear got discs and boggers. and you have all the parts to convert to cross-over. i would try to negotiate with him.
 
its cheaper then piecing together that drivetrain together yourself.

figure the 60, regearing, 35 splines would cost you $1500 if you stole the 60

crossover is $500+$100 for the 2wd box

the 14 bolt is cheap, but still need to gear and do the discs. $1000

the wheels and tires new are $2500, used maybe $1500

there is some kind of lift under there that is usuable. $200.

my numbers might be all over the place, but do a little web searching and price everything new.

almost forgot about the lockers $1000
 
yeah the truck is fully steeriable now the croosover works...i just have to take it off and put on mine...i have my matched sted of a 14 bff and 44 8 lug with dtroits i can sell too to get some money towards it...i dont want the tires though..
 
if you are going to use the good stuff in your truck then you can sell the rest and the parts you are replacing off your truck. the more I think about.:thinking: where's this truck at?
 
muddybuddy you don't have any money, and they wouldn't fit your truck anyways.:D I NEED those tires. my 44's are worn out.

haha your right, i dont NEED them, but it would be nice for the mud:D
 
i truck is in a secret location...muddy buddy is you wanna go in with me on the truck you can have tires...but right now i cant buy the truck...he says its not going anywere...mabye we can work something out...

how much do you need? ill have to see, ive got alot of expenses coming up. let me know.
 
he still has it but the rear needs discs...one day when the summer comes around and the trees around my house start growing money,im gonna make him an offer on the front axles if he still has it...but like i said when my trees start blooming hundreds...
