Is this a good trade for a 1ton k5

wassup guys just need some opinions on this i have a friend willing to trade me a 87 k5. THE GOOD it has a dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear with a detroit locker in rear 6 inch all spring lift and a 3 inch bod lift 700r4 trans with a 208 transfer case, the tires are not all that gr8 but will work the body is in good shape. THE BAD the engine threw a rod i allready have a engine to put in it heres what he wants from me a 1996 rodeo 4wd with 200,000 miles i dont drive ne more a craftsman 2150 psi power washer and a 40 gb ps3 with 6 games. is this a even trade for both of us? thanks
 
Hmmmm I'm gonna say no. I'm not sure what the rodeo is worth but the axles are worth 1500 the lift is used and it depends on what the body is really like. It might be worth it but depends on what you could get for the rodeo.
 
well im not for sure what the rodeo is worth but if i had to gues id say mayb 1500-1600 i just dont wana screw my self on this trade
 
Not to sound like a dick, but can you refrain from the texting scripture here? A lot of us don't care for this type of grammar and would rather leave that to cell phones.
 
Yeah, understood. It wasn't too long ago on some thread in the Lounge where the texting on here was debated. Most felt it was too "teenagerish" or made for some difficult reading. Used on phones is acceptable since you're only allowed so much space but here, there's a few older folks and some can't decipher the letters from numbers, etc.
 
yea i was leaning towards trading it because i dont use the rodeo and i dont know if there is a market for rodeos lol i really dont like it lol but didnt want to do a bad trade
 
How much do Rodeos go for in todays market?

If you're not using it, trade it. If you can't use the K5 later, you can part that out quickly and regain some cash with the axles alone. The rest may take some time to sell but the axles will be a quick sale.
If you can't sell the rest, consider looking for 1/2 ton axles to put back under it and sell the K5 back out at a lower fee just to get rid of it. There's gonna be some people out there who don't know the difference in axles and will want a Blazer just to get around.

Ask me, I know. I have a '91 K5 and a few high school kids want it so bad all because "the top is removable". :doah::doah::doah::haha: If this rig sells, I'm gonna corner the K5 market and every kid in the local high school will be driving K5's. :haha:
 
Trade! Rodeos don't go for anything in today's market. TRADE!!!
 
lol high schoolers. sounds like a pretty solid idea i see the axles on ebay going for like 1500 and up. seems like i've got a couple of options
 
ok guys i think im going to do the trade. more people think i should trade than not to trade wifey really dont want to trade beacause the blazer "does not run" :doah:lol and besides im a K5 guy :wink1:
 
From what I see, Rodeos are decent daily drivers. If the person needs a daily driver, it's a good trade for both of you. But like everyone else is saying... The axles alone are worth a chunk of change. After I get my soft top, that's definitely the next thing on my list, is some better axles. Everyone's looking for those axles...
 
Oh yeah, before you do trade, you might want to CONFIRM the front axle is a D60. There are a few clues to look for by inspection. If you're not sure, take pics and will can verify to you. You don't wanna get the "deal of the century" when you find out you got a D44 or 10 bolt front.

oh yea its a 60 im pretty sure. it has d60 stamp in raised print on the right hand side of the pumpkin. yea that would suck tho :haha:
 
i just wish i could have ran across this deal earlier in the yaer, i just bought a dana 60 and 14 bolt from b454rat for my other k5
