open carrier, and thick gears so itis as 4x4 stated, gears made to fit a different range carrier, IE a 3.08-3.42, which were probably the stock gears. then they put in the gears they probably ditched the gov loc, that your build sheet list.

Is the posi more desirable?
Is this a good setup?

It is prolly similar to my new 14b then, cause i know its not posi.

I missed that this was a '72 earlier. Definitely would have been a clutch type LSd from the factory rather than the Gov-bomb.

At any rate...the carrier pictured is definitely open.
