not bad at all my friend. thats what i used for my 4l80-e/203/205 .

redrilled the 203 range box for the round 6 pattern. then used a full spline shaft in the tranny. ( found it better later to use a 4wd shaft ) and bolted it all up and ready to go when i am ready.

since 4wd factory built pull the 2nd sensor plug on the left of the case and look for the tone ring. cause if you dont fine a way to do a vss on the tcase you use you will need to use that hole as the 2nd vss sensor. and the later built 4wd ones skiped the tone ring. so if reman that would require it to be installed.

Nice, about a month ago, I needed a core. It took me several days of hard hunting to find one. It is odd for me to have to hunt for parts. Went to get it & it was the wrong year. He still wanted 200 for it & it was apert in buckets. I gave $100 at a trans shop for the lower gear unit from one.

What all do I need to do in order to get this tranny to work in an '87 V30?

I already know about the small spacer from the other thread.

I need to know what to do to get the electronics to work in this particular '87.

Truck currently has a 454 TBI, 400/205.

I'm aware of having the tailhousing on the 205 machined out to VSS capabilities.

Any wiring harness or anything I should know about for the tranny?

Any tips to help out, too.

Oh yeah, this truck is awaiting a new motor. Haven't decided on either the 454 HO or the 502 HO.

What about a manual v/b? It would probably be a lot cheaper than an aftermarket controller or OE comp/harness.

Wes, if you're interested I have a tailhousing for a 205 that an old user named Donimator machined for a vss sensor. I also have the tone ring too, I think it's originally a 241 ring that has been machined to fit a 205 in some way.
