I should add that last year I bought a pair of NOS bedsides for my fleetside truck. I know they have to be NOS because nobody makes these. 1 company just started making the shortbed ones, but mine is a long bed.

The sides I got have no stickers on them. Guy I bought those from said they were in cardboard boxes, but the boxes fell apart when they moved them from the spot his dad had them stored for 50 years

the tag says "genuine general motors" on it. Does that tag look like others NOS GM tags of that time frame?

I can vouch for the interchange on the 60-66 fleetside gate to the 58-59 steel fleetside box. We used the repop gate from brothers on our 59 project at work.

But looking at the sticker in the ad, it looks to be an old faded gm parts label. I'm no expert here, but the font of the lettering is more consistent of a part sold in the 70's. My dad bought a ton of old stock parts for 57's back in the 70's when you could still get some parts then and the stickers looked similar.

It seemed like GM carried replacement parts for a longer time, but since the gate worked up to 1966 it is plausible they still sold that gate into the late 70's. I'd say it's legit.

Interesting discussion. I see a lot of 73-87 stuff claimed to be NOS, but having the modern, "GM licensed" blue and white sticker.

I think that it is probably NOS, I am no expert, so I would want to see it in person before committing to it.
But if that was for a '67-'72 it would be a grand and gone already. I have witnessed that.
Amazing, but it happens.

This is exactly why I was asking.

Alot of the repop stuff that brothers and classic industries sells is GM licensed or certified. So I was wondering if that was the case here and this was just a repop that sat around for awhile. But I'm starting to think its the real deal.

Damn, between this and the engine/trans I'm picking up on Friday, my tax return is already spent before I get it lol

I'd tend to guess it's the real deal, however I don't know for sure. The age of the sticker seems to point that direction.
