Is this possible with 10 bolts?

read the posts... some of em have already responded.

Okay.........one guy said he used to run a 10-bolt with 42's, but doesn't have a 10-bolt any more. So I guess Dana 60's with 35-spline stubs are all hype???

I'm not saying a front D44 or 10B will spontaneously explode the first time you put it in 4wd, but if you are actually run trails (rather than just mud pits) that you NEED 42's for than parts will be breaking on a regular basis.

Give me a day or two and I'll post pics of my 10bolt front and 42s walking the rock garden at Crawfords (Tellico) after a day of trail riding.

Was trying to get there but the guys I were running with had a few problems that burnt a little daylight.

NO SLICKROCK!!!!!
Bummmer!!!! :frown1:

LOL...6.2 and I should come down...so you can show us..
But....we're kinda crazy... ;)
We're hitting SLICKROCK first!!!! :D :D

I was wanting to go with Yeild2me, Tim, Keith, and Bhintz but it was freakin cold and had fought with my crappy steering all day the day before. Also we drove 7 hrs there and blew the front pump seal in our 2000 PS crewcab dually time we pulled into camp. So I took Sunday off to make sure we got it fix and was gonna have a way home. I don't think I would have had any problems with slick rock and if I did the warn on my front bumper would have solved them. I'm already planning a trip back but this time in warmer weather. If you go and want to "rough it" stay at the large cabin in Crawfords....sat tv, washer/dryer, dish washer, 3 bedrooms and great views of the mountains. :xmas:

You might have got lucky running Tellico once with a 10-bolt and 42's, but I hope you have spares the next time you try it ;)

Everybody with a fullsize in our club that wheels the harder local trails (probably like the moderate Tellico trails) on a regular basis has broken front D44's or 10-bolts with 35's or bigger.......here's the list that I can remember:
- I broke two 297X u-joints with 35" with a l/s front
- Buddy's Bronco - D44 stub shaft, locker, 36" TSL's
- Another Bronco - two 297x u-joints, 35's and open

Since switching to a front 60 I've also broken a necked-down inner shaft and a 30-spline stub......that's with a "short for a 38" 13/38-16 TSL and a locker with a close to stock 6.2 engine. I'm a relatively sedate driver also.........Here are some others:
- Dodge Dakota with full-width 60's front and rear w/ Detroits, broke a front 30-spline stub with 39.5's.
- S-10 Blazer-bodied fullsize, Detroits and a healthy 454. Could never keep the Spicer 35-spline stuff alive and eventually traded the 42's for 38's.

ok...I wanted to go myself...
but my "back" wouldn't let me...
I'd may not be able to go this year...

Did you guys see any Tiretown 4 wheeler stickers on some Jeep down there???
Some guys from my local club were down there.

Wow....the cabin sounds nice...
but...I'm so used to breathing dust....I wouldn't know what to do. ;)
