Is this what I need?

looks like that kit includes everything, including the new pressure switch. I would think if mine is already setup for electric lockup, all I would need is the exterior portion, ie. plug from tranny, switch, yada yada.

Hmm, maybe it won`t be as bad as I thought.

This may be the winning ticket: http://bowtieoverdrives.com/catalog/catalog_inc/viewitem.php?ITEMID=336

this kit works fine, it hooks up to the tranny by dropping the pan for the pressure switch, the brake petal and a manual switch under the dash. The only thing you need for the t.v. cable is a bracket on the carb intake and you can make one and weld it under the throttle cable on the same bracket. I took a th350 kickdown bracket and welded it to the carb throttle bracket that came with my truck so it would be in the perfect spot. ill try to get a pic. I had a 700r4 hooked to a 1974 carbed 350 and it worked fine. My dipstick and t.v. cable came from the dealer.

do I still need that full kit, if the tranny is already setup for electric lock up?

I`m gonna call my buddy at the GM dealer to see what he can get me for prices.

mine was brand new and i still bought the full kit, my buddy that works in the tranny dept. at GM here in town told me that there are several different versions of the solenoid for lockup convertors depending on year. Just use the one that comes with the kit so there is no mixed matched parts. Some valve bodies have more wires than others, so if you buy the full kit, it eliminates a lot of wires and bto says to use their solenoid for it to work properly. Mine is an 1986 version valvebody and it had lots of wires going to all kinds of pressure switches.

Alright, I got the bracket to install the cables. Now my question is, is this the right one on the Q Jet?

It looks correct, put the cable on and adjust it, that's the only way to tell, if you get full throttle and the cable is pulled all the way out, your good.

My build thread discusses both of these issues in some detail, with links, part numbers and sources. Hope it helps (see link in sig).
