i dont think that will work i just read about something in a magazine i will find it and get back to you

suppose i should ask is ur qjet off of a truck that had a 700r4? if not i think u would need one of these http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+115+315822&D=315822
in addition to the bracket to hold the cable way cheaper than the magazine thing also i always ran holley, so i dont know exactly what the the cable brackets on the qjets look like.

that probably wont work though cus it only lists for holley and edelbrock like u mentioned before but it sounds like it has to have the correct geometery to shift properly

I`m not fully understanding of the workings of a 700r4, thats one of the things the TV cable controls, no?

no the computer controls the torque convertor lockup, unless u had your trans rebuilt to have that hydrallic controlled. its like have an extra half a gear, is what i was always told.

Call summit or jegs and tell them you need a TV cable for your year truck ('82, right?). The TV cable was probably the same all through the 80's up until they went to electronic controls. Q-jets were tied to 700R4's for a decade, buying a TV cable for one should be no problem.

The QJet is a stage 2 from Jet Performance, and the rig has no computer.

Thanks for the help guys!

That would make sense. Wonder if I need one of those?

What if my rig is no longer computer controlled?

if you had the tranny rebuilt for electronic torque converter lockup than your screwed your gonna need to have a hydro set IIRC but dont quote me

To be honest, I`m not sure. I bought the tranny from a local who had it built, came out of his 84 blazer, IIRC.

well if he built the tranny for a 84, than you should be ok. he would have built it for carb so i think you shouldnt have a problem
I`m hoping so. I don`t remember what year it was, but I do know it had a 30 splin output, but that may have been one of the upgrades.

I haven`t talked to him in quite some time, but I just sent him a PM on another board.

Just go a response from him and it is infact and electric setup.

dang that sucks, im more of a manual guy but i do know a few things about auto's and i belive you need the hydro setup, im sure someone else will chime in here that knows exactly what to do.

hope it works out for you
