Is Vin Number Needed For New Computer And Chip For TBi Engine That Doesn't Have Computer And Chip?

How is everyone? Here's a question:

If you get a TBi Engine without the computer, do you still need the last vehicle's Vin for that engine to operate after getting a new computer and chip?

Engine is 1995 V8 7.4 454 Tbi that will later be in place of 1983 V8 7.4 454 Carburated.
