So ive had my 205 in for a few weeks ,and when I get on the pedal,in 2wd, its real loud, and not in a good way. If I take off mildly, its pretty quiet, but only when its slightly hammered on it starts making the noise. Im running good quality valvoline gear oil in it, if that helps. IS anyone elses 205 loud when your on the gas? Just checking....:thumb:

Yeah, the >coast< is great, , its only under the gun that it makes noise:dunno: just trying to get someone thats had the same thing,,,,,it just sounds unprofessional lol. dont mind ripping it out, to replace whatever, talked to a couple ppl and they said bearing, but, just trying to get more info!

mine did that when my driveshaft and angles where all screwed up. i fixed replaced the jacked drivehsaft and all was ok.

Oh, wow, because my shafts are brand new, 1 mile on them, and im just running a body lift right now,no lift

ya tha sounds odly familiar my ujoints were new two weeks ago but they ripped out so id check em if i were you

The rear has a slip ? Yoke going to the 205,,,,,,,
did not think of this, we need to check the angle of the case with your axle.
Also did yu grease the Ujoints, or did they put non greasable joints?

Very likely that this is due to a driveline vibration, even if you can't feel it. Gear driven transfer cases rattle a lot and transmit a lot of noise if there is vibration on either end of them.

Well these are brand new balanced shafts so I doubt it's the shafts, it's got to be the angles or possibly the bearing, but the bearing should be bad even coasting, I still think it's angles.

I have the boot off and can hear the noise is comming from the case itself, but,:dunno:

Right, even brand new shafts with brand new joints can vibrate if the angles and type of driveshaft aren't right for the application.

I went through this many years ago, my 205 always sounded like it was destroying itself and at 200K I decided to rebuild it, nothing changed. I kinda gave up on it for a while because it didn't appear to be hurting anything and during a wheeling trip I destroyed my rear driveshaft (in the rocks) and had to drive home 90 miles in front wheel drive. I removed the destroyed rear driveshaft and drove home on the stock front CV and the t-case was silent.

Since then I've found many other people with the same experiences (driveshaft vibration causing 205 noise) but at the time I couldn't find anyone else that knew how to fix it.

Yeah what we are saying the bad angle will put pressure on the tcase and it makes noise.
If you can make it out here we can check your angles with my angle finder, unless you have one and know how to use it.

I would love to ,but, freeway driving in my truck, is=die die die :haha::thumb: Keep talking, im listening! :thumb:

Mabey ill post some pics up, of the angle, n junk!:thumb: I dont know how much better of an angle I could get tho :dunno: , theres no lift on the truck :dunno:

Whell, I canceled out driveline vibration......i pulled the truck out of the driveway, and from a dead stop I ~ applied ~ the gas, and the noise made itself really evident......as it sounds like metal teeth sliiping ,extremly loud, and the noise is comming from the TC ,,,,for sure. So is this one of those repairs that I should just take out the TC completly? Or should I take it open from the rear where the driveline attatches to? OR, should I just swap it out and totay rebuild it? Thanks guys, this sux pretty bad, because I JUST got it in:doah:

Could it be that it's in-between gears, as in the shifter is part way between 2HI and 4HI? That would make some noise:dunno:
