Issue With '87 Getting Fuel

Really no need to. It can't stop the vehicle from running if the Fuel Pump Relay is good.

But yes you can, just look at wiring diagrams and you will see how it is a redundant switch.

How do I test the relay and where could I find it?

Firewall above passenger valve cover. Usually has a red wire coming out you can hook 12 volts to prime or check.

Pin 86 of relay should get power when key on for 2 seconds or on while in crank position. When it is on it will put power out to pin 87 to fuel pump. Power comes in pin 30 if fuse is good.

I figured I would conclude this thread by telling you that it was a broken wire from the ignition to the ECM. I should say cracked enough (not actually broken) to not relay the power to the ECM.

Intermitent issues are a PIA to find! I'd have never looked there since it ran with fuel poured in... ECM would have power to run engine, green wire from ECM turns on fuel pump relay while key on or running?

Glad you found it! :waytogo:

Now on to rebuilding the TB. Driver's side injector just pees instead of spraying.

Any ideas on good kits with injectors? It looks like I am going to put it on a '96 and newer vortec crate 350

Just service the injectors. I've had some horrible clogged flow patterns but all were restored to perfect after service. Mr Injector is down the street from me and does excellent work.
