It Appears Most Aftermarket 4x6 LED headlights "Need Modification" To Fit

My friend recently installed an HID headlamp kit for a customer, and he said the kit was surprisingly cheap online,I forget the exact cost ,but I think it was under $100..
One bummer was one headlamp failed shortly after the install, like 2 months later, and the company did not offer "individual replacement bulbs",evidently they must be replaced in pairs or something, and he was not sure at first if it really was just one bulb,so he swapped the other side's bulb in and it still didn't light,so he assumed it was the ballast..the customer ended up buying another complete kit..

The ballasts had warning labels saying they could shock someone hard enough to cause "fatal injury" if you had a heart condition..
That sounds rather frightening..

Another vehicle my friend had come in his shop to have one headlight replaced, was a Cadillac Escalade--and ONE headlight bulb costed nearly $1000 !..:screwy:..
Think I'll stick with sealed beams..even the ones that fit my pickup are not stocked at most stores any more--last time I had to replace one I went to the junkyard !--they had plenty in stock, and the guy at the counter told me "take it"..didn't charge me anything, and said if it didn't work to just go get another one..stores get almost $15 each now for them..

I got the basic LED Amazon lights for my Celebrity, which uses the same buckets and retaining rings as my 3rd gen Camaros and my '88 Burb. They fit great with no modifications to anything, other than moving a couple pins around. I got the ones with the black highlights so they aren't so 'in your face' as the regular ones.

And for the record, I followed behind my wife one night when she was in a separate vehicle, she had no complaints about glare. They just need to be aimed properly.
