i busted my g80. that's right, spiders are missing teeth, clutches won't disengage and the carrier is cracked. all in all i got really lucky compared to some of the carnage i've seen.

yep, that's why i feel lucky that it didn't actually come completely apart on me. if i'd kept driving on it, who knows?

duct tape, zip ties, jb weld? ha. i prefer the 12-bolt i swapped in. open diff so maybe a lockright or something is in its future.

12 bolt..? naaaa....just bite the bullet and throw a 14 bolt in.

Eh, if you don't need a 14FF it's just a big land anchor that requires different wheels and work to the front axle.

<---currently contemplating finding another 30 spline 10 bolt, a 12 bolt, or a 6 lug 14SF to slowly build up for The Blazer.

14 bolt may happen one day but i got a great deal on the 12bolt (from a guy on here) and the only new part i need is a conversion joint. 14 full float would require all the new wheels, new tires, swapping the front axle or gears to match ratio, and all the other costs we're all aware of on that swap.

and this is how it looked the day i installed it. my neighbors had fun watching me work on it. they think i'm some crazy man who builds killer robots or something.
