1973 K10 : Chloe

1973 K10 offroad build
My understanding is that the load reactive orbital valve go into a neutral state allowing fluid to flow to which ever side valve is being forced.
Thus allowing slow “difficult”steering.
Went outside and turned the wheel in my truck, it turns and it's been sitting a few hours

electric hydraulic pump will solve that. that 8.1 ain't gonna stall.

I like the way you think. An electrically powered hydraulic pump, similar to aircraft redundancy, would eliminate the issue entirely.

Swapped out my ratty old original drivers door for one with very little rust and electric window and locks. I swapped in the original door lock so I could continue to lock and unlock the door.
After thought, who was the Numpty that thought plastic door hinge bushings on a square body was a good idea? Those pins didn’t want to come out. Mr die grinder said otherwise.
I also saved all the parts from the original door.

Just bought these from Boyce Equipment, out of Ogden UT. They specialize in Military vehicles and parts.
These are M35A2 driveshafts. They come with 1410 Ujoints ready to install (if they fit) they won’t. I’ll probably have to have the length adjusted down at GRS Drivelines. They do very nice work, without robbing you blind.
When I have them shortened/ lengthened, I’ll probably just send the truck with them on a flatbed wrecker that way they can get the length just right. We’re getting there…

Yeah you just need the eletric regulators. The sash is the same for either glass.
The door pannels kinda work too. The crank stem hole and electric switch hole are in the same place.

Today I had to fix a screw up.
2 weeks ago I installed the gears and spool in the Dana 60F. What I neglected to do was replace the inner axle seals that sit on either side of the Differential, just outboard of the spool. Well, the gear oil started leaking out both ends of the axle after the first day after installation.
Today I remedied that.
Getting the old seals out was tough enough. Installing the new seals is nearly impossible without the seal installation tool, which I purchased about a year ago.
Earlier today, I made an extension for my floor jacks. It works well, so no more stacking bricks on the floor jacks to raise the axles.
