It Is On!

Yeah I really like how that looks and works. Since I have the top off my truck for about 6 months out of the year I'd love to have one of those. Every time I go camping in it I have to remember to bring the tarp and bungees in case it rains.

You can order those through Off Road Design too.

It takes two to get the rear most snaps. I weight 175 and had to give it all I had while my girlfriend did the snappin' (and spme pullin')
A little update. First of all,I dropped 10+ pounds and am the lean mean machine again!. But more importantly (and relevant),I ran the Jimmy all summer and up till a few weeks ago as my daily driver. The sides went up and down a lot and I figured how to do the snaps much easier. I had been starting at the front and going snap by snap to the rear...and that last snap was a bear! I figures out that doing the front verticals, then jumping to the back corner works great (just don't forget the ones between...heh heh).
Also,I took lots of pictures last summer:

Looks awesome. Reminds me of our desert camo on our vehicles put in Cali when I was in the army at ft Irwin.

Looks awesome... I've been wanting to pick up another Blazer as a daily driver, a soft top is a must for some summer time fun...

I like the color, but can't help wondering how nice it would look with a black top... I've been wanting to do a desert tan body with everything else black for awhile... Wish I still had the bush wackers as well... Yeah, people poked fun at me for the fender flares but I love the look...

The springs are 4" Tuff Country EZ-Rides,shocks are Rancho 9000RSXs,4.10 axles,8-lug 10-bolt w/Loc-Rite from a '91 Suburban,14-bolt w/Detroit Locker from an '86 K/30,10" wheels, and 315/75-16 Goodyear MTRs. I have lots of plans, but am pretty happy with it as is. Probably make some bumpers and a spare carrier next,if I get around to it. I have a factory stereo,tilt/int. wiper column,'91 sport wheel,crack-free dash, upgrade dash speakers, and black dumbo mirrors I'll put on/in it this winter.
I think the tan top really works with the doeskin tan paint and buckskin interior. More of a blend than the contrast of black, plus it's more of a canvas look. People ask me if it's military all the time..."No,better",I answer with a grin. I struggled with going with flares, but they also really work with the overall theme. I didn't really want to get away from the stock and original thing, but with the wide tires & wheels they're called for (mostly up front).

I like the contrast look, but I feel ya with blending the colors... I dig the flares on a street rig... Great looking Blazer...

I think of my 4wds as on/off road. I have a '67 GMC swb and a Harley that are street . I understand what you mean, though. Definitely not a trail rig. It's my get-away machine. It's great on the hiway, then respectable when I go off road. Just an all around GP rig.

That's the next rig I want to build, my blazer it trail only and I miss driving it around... I've got a k20 and K10 swb that are lifted but still just trucks, not the same as going topless in the blazer... Been looking for a good tbi od rig to put my full vert windshield hoop and doors on...

And that's exactly what I wanted to do...a full top deal. I even bought the stuff off a '74 being parted. I decided to stay simple, live with a bit less and just get the '85 top. Been doing a lot of compromise lately. Last winter I sold my '71 SWB K/10 Stepside I had big plans for. Just stickin' with the '72 K2500(w/1t axles) Sierra Grande,'67 SWB hot rod, this Jimmy, and my '92 K3500 SRW work truck. The '72 can be a back-up work truck, the Jimmy can too with a trailer, and the '67 is my car.

Super K that is a nice ride love what you have done and the direction you have gone with it. Is it the same one I sometimes see at the park n ride on 27 ? I didnt think soft tops were still available till I saw your post above, I figured you had that one for awhile. Told my wife I am ordering one in the spring. Well done.:waytogo:

Yep,that's it. I was helping a friend fix storm damage from "Derecho" at the Willow Springs Golf Course club house in West Friendship all through October. That's probably when you saw it.
Like it! Is the top "all season" or do you notice small leaks during showers, etc?
Well,I put it on in July '11 and it's been on ever since. We had a mild winter with only one snow last year, but I read where members in the Rocky Mt states said they took snow very well. I've never had any water inside and I never even did the seam seal they give you with it. The aforementioned "Derecho" was the last weekend in June. We had severe weather warnings that evening for right around dusk. Ok,so some bad thunderstorms, maybe even a tornado here and there. What happened was this 80 mph wind that blew severe weather in a path straight as an arrow, not like a twister. It was devastating if you were in it's path. Well, that night I was camping in the Jimmy and I rode it out. I was talking to a friend from KY who was in Canada. It had started raining so I hopped in the back and buttoned it up. It was rocking the Jimmy and I told my friend I felt like I was in a tent held down by a Jimmy! I got off the phone, climbed into my sleeping back, and wondered if this was a tornado and if it picked the Jimmy up there was nothing I could do. No cellars or safe place to go where I was. I ended up falling asleep, woke up through the night hearing hard rain, then woke early and it was over. Trees and power lines down all over. Yeah,I think it's all weather :D

I had a set of the newer ones that the screws were visible... In the right application they look great...

Kickass! Love the color too. The softopper I got for my m1009 was one of the best things I have ever bought!

^ Yeah, and yours was one I saw when I started a thread asking for experiences with these, along with your info, that helped me decide to GO FOR IT!!!. Nice Blazer! These tops make a K/5 more of what you wanted one for, unless you want it for a more refined type of SUV that is lockable. I'm talking a totally casual IDGAF romp around fun-toy. It just screams that!
