It's all done, (I mean put together) now! more pics and a ? post #35

Here are the superlift instructions I used to torque my ubolt nuts:

They recommend different torque specs depending on the size & finish of the hardware.

Thanks for the info!

Here's a crappy cell pic I took when I got home last night. It was dark cause we were about to get pounded with heavy rain.

It looks great! But I think you jumped the gun, it's never "done"...

Yup, right. It never really is done, is it... Now I'm chasing new noises and vibrations.

The ride is much better, softer I want to say. Even with the TC HD springs up front. The stock set up was so stiff and choppy feeling. I think the stock negative arch springs just don't offer much give when you hit a bump on the road. The 4" springs just feel so much softer. The truck takes bumps on the road much softer than before. Which has another benefit, I hear way less rattles over bumps.

I removed the sway bar long ago. The body doesn't lean anywhere near as much in the corners either. Highway on/off ramps the truck corners much flatter, even though it's taller. Which doesn't make sense to me but, whatever, I'll take it.

Looking good! The wheel and tire combo looks good.

What kind of front bumper is that? DIY4x?

Thanks!

That's what I was told. Bought it from Ben (NEK5) when he parted out his project, and considering the amount of items he bought from DIY4X I believe it.

I've tried searching, but no luck. How good is the back spacing with h2 and the over all look of the wheels? Do they stick out at all or are the tucked in pretty far?

Thanks

The H2s fit about perfect. They don't stick out of the fender line nor are they 'tucked in'. I'll have to get some pics from different views.

The BFGs are not really noisy at all. Much quieter then the TrXus tires they replaced and even quieter than the 1st gen MTRs I had on my S10. Balanced on a wheel balance machine with standard alloy wheel weights and they are smooth as glass on the highway.

The truck sits higher than I thought it would, but it's not too tall either. I can't wait to see how it does on the trail. :waytogo:

Here are some pics of how the wheels fit...

wheel cap drilled out 2 and 5/8" on center for hub clearance

rear is still slightly narrower than the front

tie rod to wheel clearance, no wheel spacers used

new rear driveshaft with slip yoke and CV at the front

pinion not exactly lined up with the shaft but close, may need some shims. Kinda getting a slight vibration at some speeds, I think this is it. Anyone else have an issue with this before?

and a better completed pic

pinion will prob be just fine. under power it will point right up there and be spot on more than likly.

nice setup also. :thumb:

In this picture, your seat is sticking out a bit behind the cab. Is that where you normally have it when you drive? How tall are you? I'm just thinking about my half cab kit when I bolt it on, I may not have enough clearance for a newer chevy seat.. :dunno:

Nice work on the center caps, those wheels look great :waytogo:

Just to help you out here, I'm 6'3 and thats where my seat ends up. I like legroom though, I could move it up if I wanted to.

Thanks bud. Stock seats?

I'll have to check mine (still stock seats) I'm 5'10 so maybe it'll be ok. Maybe I can tweak the new seat (when I get one) so that it will clear. I really like those Harley F150 seats I posted in another thread, but I doubt I'll be able to get them before they sell (and not sure they'll fit).

Sorry 496. I'll stop hijacking now :doah:
