It's done!!!!!!!!!!!!/ got my dana 60!!!! long

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

That's probally what I'll end up doing I really wanted true duals with a crossover pipe do you think I could mount the O2 sensor in the crossover pipe ?????? /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

No, most likely the oxygen sensor will not work in the crossover. It needs to be located close to the manifold/header to work properly, unless its the 3-wire heated version. The one-wire sensor, most likely what you have, needs a certain amount of heat to work properly.

Just my .02,
John

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

What about putting it in just one header collector I k /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gifnow it would only Read from that bank of cylinders but it shouldn't affect any thing unless I have a problem with a cylinder in the other bank right??????

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Most O2 sensors are only on one side of the exhaust. Both my 89 and 90 K5's have it in the driver side exhaust manifold. You will be fine doing it in just one side or the other.

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Thanks I didn't look at were the 02 sensor was but I dont remember it being in the Manifold I thuoght it was in the y-pipe have to call gramps to see Thanks for the help guys /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

okay called gramps the 02 is in the manifold so i'm thinking I can weld a bung into my new header collector And install it there what do you guys think???? any problems I may run into ?????I plan on desmogging this thing as much as possible In the intrest of mileage and power This truck is gonna be my daily driver / tow rig / general 4-wheeling vehicle i'd like to put a powerdyne super charger on it and maybe some other upgrades Any ideas the truck has 4.10 gears and 315-70-16 bfg/MT's on it /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Yes, put the sensor in the header collector. That should work fine. Some were in the Y-pipe, some in the manifold down pipe, but as long as it near the cylinders, it should work fine.

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Cool that's what i'll do then You guys got any other tricks to get more Power/mileage out of these TBI bigblocks ????? /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Well I got my new headers yesterday and welded the O2 sensor bung into the collector And then I built some tempory pipes that will go just past the cab with 12 inch glass packs (used my yellow truck for the measurements ) this weekend I'll get the trans/t-case in it and drive it home pulling the stepside on the trailer And then next week I'll have the 3-inch pipes with my new 2- chamber 40series flow masters CAN'T WAIT /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Got my Dana 60!!!!!! LONG

Well guys I'm leavin' to work on the "New" truck If all goes well I should be drivin it home this Sunday I have every thing I need Incuding new U-joints I also decided to put my old 4" rancho lift of my K10 on it if I have time /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif man I'm so excited it's better than Christmas morning I still have to go get the trailer from the house already have it loaded using the K10 to pull the trailer over there (Hope the t-case holds up /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) Pullin' a trailer with a short bed on 8" lift and 37" tires should prove to be a challenge at least the trailers not loaded to heavy (Trans,t-case,lift ,and pipes ) I had to borrow a 8" drop hitch to make the trailer sit level /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gifbut if every thing works out I'll be pullin' the stepside on the trailer home /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifWish me luck guys /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif
