Actually, the Carter Carburetor Company went out of business some 15 years ago, and Federal Mogul bought the Carter manufacturing plant. Now Edelbrock buys them from Federal Mogul and slaps their name on it. I think the Carter style carburetor, whether it comes from Federal Mogul or Edelbrock is the best street performance carburetor ever made. Holley's are good for racing, but not every day driving. Q-jets are good, but I would rather have a Carter style instead. I think Edelbrock makes some of the best performance products there are. They are the best in the business when it comes to intake manifolds. I think Crane Cams rules when it comes to camshafts and valve trains, and Hooker rules when it comes to headers. Mallory rules the roost for ignitions.
