I'm wanting to get 7 inches of lift out of the front of my k5.
right now i have a 4 inch spring.

and i want to keep the stock length springs in it. I wanted to try and stay away from a 6 inch spring, with the ord zero rate.

so i was thinking 4 inch spring, 1 inch zero rate, and ???

whats the best way of getting another two inches? or should i just get the 6 inch spring?

BEST way is 6" and zero rate. Possible? 4", add a leaf, and zero rate. No garauntee of compatibility of the add a leaf and lift springs and I'm sure if you call the spring maker they will tell you to get new springs.

worst case custom 7" springs . :D why no 6" and zero ?

Well it is my understanding, the higher the lift of the spring, the stiffer the spring and the ride..

Not sure how much stiffer the 6 inch spring would be vs. the 4 inch spring..maybe not even noticable?.

what size tires do youj plan to run ?

I want to run a 38 or 39.5...for more ground clearence. and at this point in time, the body on my k5 is in really good shape, and i just can't bring myself to cut it up......yet.

Plus i don't really want to use a body lift..

i'm running 35's with a 4 inch lift, and think that i should be able to run 38 or 39.5 with 7 inches up front and 7or 8 in the rear....depending on sag..

You will most likely have to hack to run wide 38's or 39's with only 7" of lift. It all depends on how wide you go i guess.

i have the 6in bds with zero rate up front, and 2.5 shakle flip in the back with 4 in springs and 0 rate
i like the ride, handles better than my mom's stock blazer, even without the anti sway bar

I got 6" TC EZ rides up front now and they ride and flex much much much better than my procomp 4" springs ever did. To add to that, I wheel with a guy that has 6" procomps and he complains about the ride, both of up are not running the sway bar at all.
