At about 20 minutes in on the latest Pirate 4x4 TV episode they interview a couple employees at the Warn facility where they were doing a tour and one of the guys has a 'sub/blazer grafted together. Kind of interesting... If you want to check it out it's the episode on the homepage of Pirate right now.

I snapped a screen shot...

I don't remember who, but there was a CK5 member that was doing the same thing. I think the thread is about 8 years old.

this seems to be getting more and more popular idk why since a suburban is already plenty long but people like what they like i guess.

Wouldn't the Sub end up shorter doing it the way he did? Seems like Subs have a longer rear overhang than a Blazer does, but maybe that is just me.

I like the look, and it would make it much easier for kid loading/unloading than the Blazer.

Yep, the burb has a longer overhang in the rear so grafting a blazer rear would make the sub shorter.

In the clip he said its so he can load his bikes in the back. I've seen plenty of chopped up suburbans but this was cool because you could seal it up with the top but have a bed area if need-be. Avalanche style I guess.

I've seen something similar to that but the guy didn't put the entire K5 backhalf on, just made it so the shell fit. Truck was still normal Sub dimensions.
Think a member on here is doing something like that actually.

I've also seen where a guy made a Blazer with a Suburban roof and back structure so it had no removable top and barn doors.

IIRC it's "54inches" , the thread is titled suburban on rocks or something like that, there are more pics of the green sub in that thread as well.

Eh, not who I was thinking of. More recent...think he's in the AF...? Repainted it too...might be in the Suburban forum.

I wish I had a picture, but I saw something horrible the other day.

Mid 90's crew cab dually long bed, with the extended portion of an extended cab grafted to the back of the rear doors. It was overall at least 2 feet longer, way open inside, BUT.....

Completely SLAMMED to the ground on static suspension!

I've got to admit I've thought about that, since I hardly ever remove my top. I think it would be easier getting into the back not having to roll down the window to open the tail gate. I'd love to see pictures.

Guy was building it as a show truck. Big lift and 38" or better. Was several years ago so he's likely got it done. He was in Michigan.
