Man that thing is looking a lot like my setup a few years ago. Same tires and wheels. Black with a white top too haha. @Kay86K5 used to rock the same look also.

Hoping they last for a few months so I can build a doubler, then buy some 40s or 42s. Really hoping I can paint it this winter/fall.

Got the hydro assist plumbed and the ram mounts done. Waiting on a few seals for the steering box. Next up is the front driveshaft so it’ll be 4wd. Ordered a new printed circuit board for the cluster to fix my fuel gauge, temp gauge, and oil pressure gauge. Also needed a new channel for the back glass so I can get that working again.

Went to Uwharrie this weekend for a shake down run. It started out okay then got kind of eventful around Troy. I noticed the Alternator quit charging around Raleigh and had to swap in a new one at the advance auto parts. It was only putting out 3v to the battery when I checked it with my multimeter, after I changed it the charging cable for the alternator came loose in its ring terminal at the battery. I know I need to clean up the wiring under the hood, it just runs and drives now so its on this gigantic list I’ve been making. Front shaft actually worked pretty well I was worried I’d pull it part but I should have about 2” of slip spline engaged at the minimum at full droop. I need to clearance the CV some to make sure it’s not binding. I need to go ahead and swap to the 35 spline stubs and Yukon hubs, one of the factory ones is broken. So I tossed in a spring and used it like a drive slug on the trails. It’s a bitch to get it to pop back out but as soon as you do the 205 shifts like butter through the ranges. I will have to section my front fenders before my next wheeling trip. At full stuff it would get into the fenders hard even with the wheels pointed straight ahead. I’ve got the materials just need to relocate my battery to the back and start cutting and chopping. The 5.3 averaged 13 mph through the trip but it was cutting timing hard, I’ll be working with a tuner this week and get that dialed in. Really the 4.10s in a low range isn’t bad for trail riding but technical crawling it sucks. I need to figure out the route I want to go but I want to make sure this 5.3 is tuned correctly because that may help the road drivability issues on hills I was having. But here are some pictures

Well since my uwharrie trip I figured out a lot more issues with smaller things, started a few other projects with it. Still need to do a bunch more. Currently gathering parts to finish another 60 build to swap in, the one I’m pulling out will go into storage for a tow rig idea I’ve got.

Did the 5.38s and detroit out back, drives so much easier and the gear split is much much better. But now I’m taching 3k rpm at 65, so looking at possibly doing a nv4500 swap. Would love to find an early model one so I can jeep that granny first gear because it makes it so much easier to drive when offroad/obstacles.

Also I’ve started the sliders, cut 3” out of the bottom of the doors and rebuild the sill plates and weather stripping channel.

But waiting on some king pin lower caps to show up and some king pins so I can finish building that front 60 to swap in. Still need to relocate the battery to the back, build inner fenders, cage, shock hoops, and then it’s back on to my JK that is finally in the garage and starting to get the 1 tons under it.

Huge picture dump, I’ve been busy the last 2 1/2 months since I broke up with my GF. Finished up my slider, still need to fur down the frame and build a belly plan and gusset the sliders. Twin sticked the 205, finished building and swapped in the 5.38/Detroit/Yukon shafts 60. Found the yoke for the rear shaft to convert it to 1410. And now trying to finish up the bed cage

Got the passenger side welded in, need to pick up some DOM hopefully this week so I can do the crossover then to tie them together and do the front shock hoops. Then hopefully I can also pick up a sheet of aluminum so I can make the front inner fenders. Still got a ridiculous long list, but here are some more pictures.

Killed sometime this afternoon getting the Fox shocks in there. Hopefully I can pick up that DOM and the sheet of aluminum this week. My metal guy is completely slack. Also need to figure out how I want to run my spare.

Been driving it a lot finding other problems with it. Bought some 39.5s and put them on some 17” steel wheels. Mainly bought them to use them on the jeep. They are definitely heavier than the 38.5s but it looks cool. I stuffed the factory inner fenders in there just so I could drive in the rain but I’ve got a lot of the tubes cut and notched for the shock hoops. Looks like I’ll likely have to plate my front of the frame to get a decent surface to weld to. The rear down tube gets into the weird bulge where the shock bolts up. Been waiting on someone to release their frame plates to keep from wasting a bunch of time making my own. Anyway I’ll try and include all the pictures of the other progress I’ve made.
