With all the available parts for jeeps there must be alot of people that have adapted them for use on Blazers. It would be nice to have a permanent post ( or maybe start with this thread) of all the jeep parts people have used on their blazers.

I think it's the other way around. Lots of Chevy motors, axles, etc, found under Just Everbody Else's Parts.

Thought alot of us have already installed an XJ steering shaft on our blazers.

XJ shaft is all I can think of. They use our motors, out axles (especially 14b), our transmissions, our transfercases.

There isnt much heep stuff that translates to a blazer. Im not really sure what would make you think that.

Welcome back K5zx. Man, that's lurking. 15 posts in 12 years, 3 of which were today.

Maybe K5zx is talking about aftermarket stuff for Jeeps like racks, lights, seats, etc.

I have used jeep coil springs in the rear of some buggy blazers. Other than the XJ shaft not a ton of parts move over. I have used jeep tow hooks

i could see these things, but anything else would require so much modifying to do any good, why not start from new, or use many of the vendor products that make blazer parts....

Now if you say bronco parts... I may know a guy thats using some and they work pretty good......

I use Jeep speedometer gears in my transfer case, because the little housing part is from a Dodge. And the XJ shaft.

Other than that, I think the crossover is just aftermarket stuff that's general to 4 wheeling. I'm sure there are more winch, lighting, tire, etc. choices because of the large Jeep market.

Go look under some Jeeps in a junkyard. I never see anything I want. Ooooh look! A Dana 30 and some 1/4-ton drivelines!

I saw a 70's J-20 Jeep pickup in a salvage yard, that was in a bad rear end collision...was surprised when I peeked under it,and saw a Dana 60,an SM465 and a divorced New Process t-case,and under the hood,it had a 327 with a 4 bbl carb...most people looking for Chevy parts probably would have waltzed right past it,and not given it a second look!...

I dont see much of anything Jeeps used to be of much worth to a Chevy guy really...I helped a friend replace sheared rear axle shafts in his CJ at least 3 times, those tapered keyed axles snap like peanut brittle if you get some good wheelspin on ice plowing, and hit a dry patch of tar..:doah:..and then the tire, rim and drum fly off!..:eek1:

speaking of jeep parts, i seen a rock bumper for $89 bucks. No way your going to get a blazer bumper for that price...

I know it would be shorter, but for $89 bucks...

here is the bumper:

and here is how i was thinking it was going to fit...

and then with a little trimming...

IDK.. just an idea...

I would bet that bumper is at least 10" too short. Jeeps are way narrower than a full size

You could buy a narrow Jeep bumper and rework it, but you would have to section it to make it wider, make the center part taller to fit over your frame rails, remake or rework the mounting brackets and now you have about as much work in as a bumper from scratch. Plus it will be all hacked together looking, still not hold a winch, still have to be painted and probably be no stronger than a stock bumper. So why not run a stock bumper? Come to think of it, $89 is pretty close to what I spent on steel to build one from scratch.

If we had a big enough market, somebody could stamp a bumper and get the price down pretty low. It would probably still need a winch mount or reinforcement and brackets welded on, but the amount of fab labor would go way down.
