Got the main brace in and tack welded last night. Monday I'll take it in and get the halo and front braces made to my specs. Here are some teasers. If anyone is interested I can do a write-up on the install. I have taken a bunch of pics of each step already.

Nice

It's looking good so far. I'd love to see a write-up. Does it come with plates on the bottom of the tube? Can it be bolted to the floore with those sandwitch plates?

it comse with 6x6" floor plates that are designed to be welded in. I drilled a 3/8" holes in each corner and bolted to floor and will prob also do some small welds too.

the door handles I used are kenworth door handles and I reversed the way the linkage works so you putt up on the instead of having to push down. Perfect fit and we have a bunch at the shop. Will hopefully have more done on the cage early next week.

the doors I took some spare doors. on the inside I cut the whole rippled part out and the outside I just cut they shape I wanted. I then took 3/4" sq tubing and made a frame on the indise so I could plate the openning on. Took the semi latch and mounted it, painted and installed. I can take some close up pics when I go back to the shop.

I think we need write ups on both the doors and the cage....it might take some time....but just think how many people you will help!!!

I'll try to get some more pics of it all this week. I should have taken more pics of the doors as I was building them but I'll take some close ups to give ideas.

Yes you should have taken more pictures... didn't you know that they would be so poplar when you were done? Think you should just build up a few extras for us jealous members here :D

I agree.. that would be awesome to have a half door right up. Those are some nice lookin ones too. The cage looks like its turnin out well also.

well, I built some mounts to make the cage bot to the back of the carb above the rear window so I can make a plate and sandwich the cab and continue the cage to the bed. I took a few pics but forgot my camera at the shop :doah: :doah: :doah:
I will post up tomarrow night.

a pic of the brace to be able to go through back of cab.

Your not welding the entire cage with those tack welds are ya?

no, just tacked the base structure of it together so I could make sure it is all gonna work they way I want and then I will fully weld

Looks to be fully tack welded to me
Stop worrying about how your welds look and just weld it right ;)

I'll take a pic of the welds for the halo tomarrow and see what you think
