It's the same here, the whole county has signs when you enter that says the roads are also "UTV roads unless otherwise posted". I pick the kids up on it sometimes, go vote in it, etc.

Our pro freedom government says we don’t have the freedom to drive them on public roads. Although some areas are more lenient than others.

Yeah there was a huge fight to keep texas dmv from revoking. Kit car and glass dune buggy street tags. Unfortunately rails and sxs didn't make the cut.
Faron Smith, Save the Texas Dune iirc id still fighting for the rest.

Do you guys have a registration option for those vehicles?
Here in CA we do.
They are not allowed everywhere but they have their own lane and those lanes are spreading slowly all over

I see them driving around here constantly. I've taken mine out a couple of times when I'm doing some testing. But I don't generally 'drive' it places. Although it's fast enough. I've had it up to 70 on a gravel road.

Something funny is, I occasionally take the RZR to pick the kids up from school, it's a 5 mile country road drive. In the spring or late summer months I will do it once a week or more. But at one point I thought, what does this thing get for MPG with the CVT belt and a spool, and 30" mud tires on the road?

So I filled it up and then the next fill up I calculated the MPG, 12.8, less than my 2500HD! :haha:

The engine is only a 925 cc twin, not 6,570 cc V8.

So the cost is actually higher, because with the spool it grinds off the rear tires faster than the truck on pavement, and the MPG with the CVT sucks, but we still take it!

I've actually taken the blazer multiple times since I got it running, and haven't taken the RZR recently, but it's also been getting a lot cooler. I'm sure I'll take it more again in the spring, and we'll drive it in the woods over the winter too.

Yep I get 7 to 12 depending on how I drive it, about the same as Moby the tow rig with the V-10. :D
Good point, the 12.8 was just very mild driving on the road only, nothing aggressive or even offroad for about 3/4 of a tank.

I calculated my MPG in the 489 K10 in the dunes once, it was less than 3. On the highway, 11. So there can be a large difference. I also suspect it was lower than 3 actually, because that showed how far my tires turned in the sand via the VSS, now how far it actually moved.

Nice thing about the blazer is it doesn’t have a working fuel gauge so it gets unlimited mileage until the tank runs dry.

The Camaro should be knocking down 20-25. I’ve gone through 3/4 of a 15gal tank in under a 150 miles. I think it’s impressive considering my longest round trip is 20 miles with speed limits 55 and less.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to derale the SXS thread with MPG numbers, I was just shocked how poor the MPG was with such a tiny engine.

We haven't done any big rides for a while but we have done some all day(6-8hr) stuff where you only end up in the 70-100 mile range on a tank of gas. Never have calculated mileage on mine 2008 Yamaha Rhino 700. There's so many roads and places to go I could leave my house and ride in just about any direction and be gone all day.

Took it out for the maiden voyage with the new skids, trailing arms, and transmission. Absolutely worth the money. Holy cow did those things change this machine. High gear is now usable as a high gear and low gear is actually low. The new skids are softer to land on than the factory ones. The trailing arms let me climb up things I previously had to throttle up because they stopped me.

For those that wheel hidden falls, it has changed quite a bit after the July 4 floods. Things have gotten quite knarlier in areas and there are still trails that are closed from it.IMG_5314.jpeg
