June Rubicon Trip (more pics)

Front end is 100% ready.

I could check trans fluid and be ready to go.

but I'd like to toss my rear seat and try to fit the spare back there, just for this trip since I don't have passengers. Plus get all the tools and spare parts secured in the back.

How is your progress?

Nice job!

I've been driving the truck around a lot, looking forward to the trip.

Im plugging along. im ready to weld on the hydro ram and get that working. Still need to weld the sliders on. Disc brakes are almost set up.

I'm just about ready, the truck is due for an oil change so I think I'll do that tomorrow. But I just need spares and time off from work

I wasn't planning on having a fire but I've got a box full of 2x6 lumber I wouldn't mind getting rid of.

What about the small fires created in our engines? lol Ill need to get a permit for sure.

Those are contained?

Easier to have the permits so we can skip any potential BS.

I was up in Tahoe this morning, really wet with a thick fog over the summit. I was surprised to see so many rigs heading toward the trailhead.

Totally worth it. I like to avoid any trouble if possible!

Oh yeah its going to be a tard convention up there this weekend.

Still up in the air if we will be able to make it or not but a campfire would be sweet. Were checking and making sure we have all the camping supplies we need

Hope you make it. Hows everyone else looking? Ill be up and running by Wednesday. Then ill finish off the hydro this coming weekend.

Yep, hopefully he can make it happen and join us.

I'm in pretty good shape, been driving the rig a lot.

New 140amp alt will be here today or tomorrow, installed a new 850cca battery last week. I ordered a couple hooks for recovery points in the rear, those should be here today. Doors are off, tube doors have been fitted and are ready for a second coat of paint. I picked up a spare 14 bolt axle shaft over the weekend, still have a list of other spare parts I'm working on. Need to mount the tires still, probably trim a little. Debating the twin stick install.

Nice! whats the 140 amp for?

more juice :D or you mean what's it from? It's an upgraded Summit Racing alternator.

With the addition of the fans and air compressor I wanted more power. Cheap upgrade really.... and I'll keep the 60amp as a trail spare.

Oh ok i was just wondering if you got a welder deal. Looking forward to the trip. Im hoping to do a four day weekend next week to get the sliders on. Other than that im finally wrapping stuff up. I probably wont have as many spares as id like but i should be okay with all the new stuff ive put on/beefed up.

Do you guys have 30spline hub spares? I have some for my extra set of front shafts but don't have any history with them.

Found my brakeline leaking at a connection when I stored the blazer. I'll work on that and storage/tool check list the week before.

How are you guys with trail fixes? Only couple things I've ever had to do was put front driveshaft back together and pull a hub.

wish I had a welder, it's on the wish list. You're bringing some welding rod right? I'll have a spare battery with me too.

I have some spare 30 spline hub parts, it's a mix and match warn and spicer parts. I need a stub shaft still. I would like to have spare drivelines but I'm not sure if that's going to happen.

I've had to deal with a few things, mostly engine, wiring & suspension crap while out on the trail.

Negative on the spare but i remember reading one will fit either side.

Funny you mention that brakeline leak...mine wasnt leaking but my dumb self :zombie19: forgot to put a copper washer on the bottom of the bolt...need to fix that.

Hoping not to need any trail fixing but im ready to do anything. Ill have plenty of tools but doubles never hurt. This is my first time on the trail after all the crap ive done to the truck so im not going to get too crazy.

I have and will bring my spare front driveshaft. If anyone needs it in a pinch ill lend it.

Yeah im bringing rod just in case. Probably bring the generator, sawzall and cutoff wheel just in case. We should be ok. Most of the breaking im seeing is due to not running 1 ton stuff and forcing the truck when its really stuck.
