Just a little weekend carnage..... *pics*

Too cold for mud, it was all frozen... White-Rhyno and myself in his truck, and our other buddy in his Yota' on 39.5's wheeled all the way up to where we were looking over the ridge down on the skiers at Mission Ridge on the Wenatchee side.

Here is a before shot of Ryans K5...

The owner of the first gen needs to be arrested for defacing a treasure.

lol

and what kind of shap do you think that blazer was in before he got it?

maybe a rusted out, dinged up multi colored gem?

He spent his money and time to make it nice, notice the axels under it...I would say he built it to wheel it. I think that is the most important part. If you build something to wheel...wheel it!

all the comp buggies are shure purdy too when they roll out of a shop...after spending all that time and money to built up a rig, it only makes since to spend a fraction of it to have it look nice and one color, even if it only last a while.

damn shame to see a nice capable 4x4 wheeled huh...

cry your heart out..

lol dude you aint got to preach to me about wheeling a 4x4... I have been up and down every trail and hillclimb around here and never took that kind of damage or any for that matter just a bunch of brush scratches on my 16 year old paint job. Ask my bro, i wheeled the hell out of it till the main let go.

All im saying is that thing probably had a bunch of work put into it to get the body straight and another good chunk into the paint and now after one trip its pointless. You don't have to take body damage to wheel. Not to mention how hard it is to find a straight first gen body.

Why make it all perty so you can screw it up? As for the buggies.... can you say full rollcage?

He definitly built the 72 to be wheeled, but he also likes it nice...He will probably in the next few months get a new door, fender, and rear 1/4 put on it and a new paint job... no biggie... then it will get dented up again, and he will fix it again.

if you look at the pic near the tail light area you can see where a good section of body fill came off...so as nice as it looked it was never a pristine original.

The damage also isn't impossible or even terribly difficult to fix if he chooses to fix it. It had obviously been built to wheel, so what is the big deal? If you really feel a decent first Gen is a 'treasure' than by all means go out, but a decent one and restore it to factory original and keep it in your own private museum. Your truck, your choice...his truck his choice.

Lets all just respect the choices others have made with their trucks...

Rene

sorry--I just hate too see an old K5 get trashed!

I'm suprised they didn't at least have a truss on that front end, even with one your pushing your luck with tires that big....Oh well,a good time to test out that onboard welder ---

I think the owner of that (used to be)mint first generation K5 should be ashamed of himself for wrecking a nice truck like that--like there isnt enough being destroyed already--there are plenty of beaters and rotboxes to thrash off road--why wreck a nice one??--I hope the shifter knob got him in the nuts!! [/Q

I was a little harsh I guess!- -I dont mean to bash anyone,it just angers me to see a decent first generation blazer get trashed--especially if its a decent one--here in my area that truck would be considered "mint"--even though it has a lot of bondo,it was still steel underneath!-any K5 of that vintage here is usually falling off the frame, and has NO floors to speak of---I guess if I lived in AZ or CA I wouldn't feel so bad, since there is probably a lot more decent trucks still around--here its like hens teeth,to find an older blazer that hasnt rotted to death or had the snot whaled out of it...just seems a shame and a waste of time and money :surepal: :screwy: to fix a truck up all pretty, then trash it in one off road trip..

I just showed this thread to Rudy... he said that everone that is bitchin' about his rig are pu$$ies... its his rig and he will thrash it if he wants...

What a bunch of whiney bitches!!!:frown1: Go out and wheel your rigs the way you want to and we'll wheel the piss out our's the way we want to. Pooh put up the pics so that those of us that couldn't make it on the trip could see how much fun it was (POST MORE PICS!) not to listen to you web wheelers cry about some dents on somebody's rig you most likely don't even know.

Rudy, lets get a cage in that thing so you can put it on it's top and really get some sh!t started:D

You don't have to take body damage to wheel.

I take it you have never seen any trails in the PACNORWEST?

Put up or shut up!! Were going out on Memorial day I've got a grand that says you sustain body damage! C'mon up and see what the PNW is like. Wheeling around here is different than what your used to, that I assure you. We USE our rollcages, rock/tree sliders and winches. Before you type/speak think about the area someone is in posting, also true of what their willing to do with their truck as opposed to you.
Go to fullsizechevy.com and post, they think like you do........for the most part.
