The model designation changed from K5 to V10. I think it was for the 89 model year. Your title says V10 also, probably. I was wondering the same thing back when I got mine. It's a 91.

My '88 K5 was a V-10. I believe that is the first year of the "R" & "V" series. When Chevy came out w/ the new body style trucks in '88 they were C & K. They kept the older box style K5, Subs & Crew Cabs in prodution & changed their name to R for 2wd & V for 4wd.
