how come at parts stores my blazer is under a V10 blazer and not a K5. even on my insurance its a V10???

The model designation changed from K5 to V10. I think it was for the 89 model year. Your title says V10 also, probably. I was wondering the same thing back when I got mine. It's a 91.

My '88 K5 was a V-10. I believe that is the first year of the "R" & "V" series. When Chevy came out w/ the new body style trucks in '88 they were C & K. They kept the older box style K5, Subs & Crew Cabs in prodution & changed their name to R for 2wd & V for 4wd.

the title and VIN on my 94 burb says k2500 
The V & R series is '88-'91 box body style K5's, Crew Cabs & Subs only.

well i have a 87 so should it be a true K5
Hell maybe it is '87-'91, really not that big of a deal anyhow, still the same truck.

how silly. i liked the c/k designations along with the 10/20/30 over 1500/2500/3500. who picked those numbers?

When I look for parts I often see it listed as a K10 Blazer (1986). What's the "5" represent??? Nothing... It's still a 1/2-ton truck.
