Someone brought up the local services available in Moab a while back and I've been thinking on it ever since. It's probably partly on my mind because I'm a business owner and we are constantly discussing the "buy local" concept.

I want to point out that the more business we can bring into Moab while we're there, the harder the locals will fight to help us keep the Moab area trails open. Seems like every year we read about public land being closed down. Tellico OHV comes to mind most recently and it seems like the Rubicon is under constant threat, just to name a couple. Tourism is very important to the Moab area and if the trails start getting closed down, it's going to hit them where it hurts - the pocket book.

For example, this year we purchased the event liability insurance through a local insurance agency.

This also speaks to being good "ambassadors" while we are in Moab. We don't want to make the Moab residents think the fullsize 4x4 crowd is a bunch of jackasses or a-holes.

Okay, I'm done preaching. I just wanted to bring it up so everyone can keep this in mind while we're in Moab for Blazer Bash. We (the 4x4 community) need all the help we can get to fight the greenies.

I'll do my part to support the locals....

Hijack... Does Fourwheeler or 4wheel and offroad show up to our event at all? Not that I'll have a chance at the spotlight with no rig.. just curiosity... hijack off..

Very well put. I find it hard to believe that Moab would even be on the map if it was not for the out door enthusiast.

I've been afraid to look at the extended forcast, so that's good to hear.

I didn't realize they filled growlers @ the brewery. 4 more empty ones coming down.

I don't bring much to Moab with me as far as food goes, try to buy most of it at the city market. I try to support the locals as much as possible.

Not to mention it's just easier to not have to haul a bunch of food along with everything else.
