Just bought a 87 K5

hey guys just bought myself a 87 K5 4x4 blazer for 800$ its a steal lol but my delima is this it has a 305 TBI and 10 bolt axles now i wanna do a 8inch skyjacker kit with 3 inch body and 39.5 inch Swamper IROKS if i were to switch the engine what could or should i swap it to now i know i could easily do carb 350 - 400 easily but i dunno i wanna stay with the fuel injection any ideas and for axles im gonna get a 14 bolt for the back and either a 44 in the front or a 60 if i can find one haha so lemme in on some info if u guys have any thanx

duh, get a 60 front. keep the TBI for sure. and get a 6" lift and lose the body lift.

lol i plan on a 60 just money pending and finding one is the hard part ideal would be 8" lift for me TBI i will keep just need to figure a better engine into the pic as far as the body lift i dunno some say yes some say no i dunno

why 8"?

better for the trails we have here lots of rocks and stumps need the travel for the axle and the height to clear

8" springs = not too much travel.

Go with 4" springs and a flip in the rear. With a little trimming you can fit the 39.5's

i am running 6in with rear spring and have a 350 crate with and edelbrock performer cam and intake that are dyno matched. runs pretty strong for tbi. check out www.summitracing.com

ya that would be decent but the money is the factor here lol im gonna see if i can find a wrecker who might have a motor for cheap then just tweak it a bit lol but im looking for axles more then anything right now i got crap 10 bolts need to get rid of those

i just got all this done today, but i added zero rates front and rear. ive got 38.5 TSLs. the front springs are the stock rears, the rear springs are 56" ones out of a 2wd burb. ive got about 6-7" of lift, and it is very soft. but i have yet to tune it, and the lift will probably get a hair lower. BUT, i aso streched my WB by 9" with the springs and zero rates. you can see this a little in the second pic.
