just bought a 99 2500 (HD?) Wiring harness fubard'

Check behind the main unit, that may be unplugged. In that case, the remote cd player won't work. If so, I'll offer a refund for mine, since you don't really need it.

If thats the case Riley...I'll eat it, as its my own ignorance that would be the cause:haha:

When my hd was new the cd player had problems more than once, i got tired of it and bought a decent fold down face pioneer(graphics, fish, racecars, etc) with a pioneer 13 band eq. The kit fit real nice in the dash, the wiring plug hooked right up and it looks good in there. Then i had to do the rest, i pulled the door speakers and installed a rockford fosgate 6.5 component set with mids, tweets and crossovers wired (all 4 corners)to a rockford 250 watt amp. I also build a rack for under the rear seat that holds a ten inch sub on each side with the middle tray holding the 250 amp and a rockford 500 for the subs. All done with stinger wire to help with the sound, dynamat works good too in the doors. It sounds good with the classic rock and country music. Crisp and clear....better than the sh!tty bose that it had.

If it wasnt for a good deal on a used stocker, and it was me id buy aftermarket with a install kit.

I'm thinking that way too Rob....Maybe I'll post up for some ideas.

Thansk man.

What a fockin dip**** I am.....the plug from the CD deck was pulled down behind the opening in back of the main unit.....I had to fish it up and plug it in.....IT WORKS!

Hey Riley, you don't have a code for that main deck do you....it is locked!

And there is a CD from BMG, unlabled that was in the CD deck....
Anyhow I have your deck in there, and I'll keep mine for a spare now.
Thanks Dudes!!!!:D

I've had a security warning light come on the last week or so, and Wed. it wouldn't start after picking up some parts.
It was at a service center/parts joint, so they checked the codes out, and turns out the aftermarket remote starter wiring where it was spliced into the factory dash wiring harness was kinda hacked, and the computer wasn't reading the proper signals from the remote starter feed to proceed with engine start.
So I had them take out the remote starter system, and repair the factory wiring harness. Well that lasted a few days. While coming home from the races in Chicago last night the security light came on again. I decided to just drop off the truck at the same shop and let them deal with it again, as I hate messing with wiring when it works right let alone has problems.
The codes show the key socket in the steering column isn't reading the key right, so the TSB says to replace that and reprogram.
I really hope this isn't a ongoing problem with wiring....seems like those never end.
