Just bought a CUCV for $625.

Is this the other tag I was looking for?

Yep, that's the tag. And yep, that's military but that lift gate is not.

And yep, that thing is fuglier than my ex-wife.

I dig it. Plans?

Id love to have a rig with a lift gate. So nice for loading heavy stuff.

If I do keep it, the lift gate is going on Craigslist, or more likely, the iron pile.

That looks like a Tommy Lift gate. Don't scrap it, put it on Craigslist. You could probably sell it for more than what you paid for the truck.
And I like the second tag you found that gives the measurements for where the COG is located.

Thats a real score.. I bet you could unload the plow and the lift gate for more than you have into it. Someone paid you to take that truck!!!

So the wires to the glow plugs have already been modified. What is the best glow plug knowing that?

Martin

Reasoning? Isn't there one that you can't overheat or something? I'm used to working on real diesels, glow plugs are unknown (and silly) to me.

Bosch Duraterms and AC Delco 60G plugs are both rated for continuous use (without overheating). There has been at least some testing to indicate that the Bosh plugs will outlast the 60G plugs on a test stand (without any heatsink), but both are far superior to the factory plugs.

I run 60G plugs in the Suburban without issue. I have a set of Duraterms to install in Big Blue, but it hasn't needed plugs yet. So my side-by-side test still hasn't happened.
