Cost me $1026. I had to bid on it sight unseen. I actually bought it for parts: dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear and hopefully it has a th400 with a np205 behind it.

Are the military diesels hard to work on? the auction description said it was inoperable.

hell that looks better than mine and I paid about the same. Anyway, the mil will say it is inoperable if something like the batt or keys are missing. Of course they also could have picked it for parts too. On mine the batts were missing, no key, and the fuel filter base was gone. Fixed all that and it fired up. Of course then I let it sit for 2yrs and ruined it, and had to rebuild the IP.

nice find.
the transfer case should be a np208 for all military trucks with the exception of the M1028A1 and M1031 they used the 205, those were designed to use a PTO

Dang it. I was hoping it had a 205 (but not a slip yoke 205). Please tell the the 14 bolts in these trucks came with a detroit locker at least?

It's basically identical to the 6.2 diesel offered in civilian trucks in that era with the exception of a few 24 volt vs. 12 volt items. They are extremely simple to work on if you know what you are doing. If your only experience is working on gas engines and you don't research them they will give you fits, so read up.

thanks for the link.
I am not sure what it is, the nsn wasn't included on the vehicle description and I don't know enough about them yet, to be able to tell visually if it is one or the other.

Damn,

you guys are lucky! I wish I had a K30 too. Over here you have to pay at least $9k for a K30 in decent shape.

M1008 in a "road legal" state are sold for $12k +

Maybe I should start a business :pimp:
LOL, but I bet you can buy a unimog with portal axles for cheap over there. I wouldn't mind having one of those.
