Just bought a K5

Pretty sure the rear is going to be open, but you never know. Try jacking up the rear under the pumpkin until both tires are off the ground. Make sure the parking brake is off (chocking the front tires first is always a good idea) and rotate one of the rear tires forward. If it's an open diff, the wheel you're not turning should rotate in the opposite direction of the tire you're spinning. If it's a posi, the opposite wheel should rotate in the same direction as the one you're turning, but not as fast (about one turn for every three). If your new ride is equipped with a locker, the opposite wheel will turn with one you're manually rotating at the same speed.

I think this is right. Experts?

ITS AN OPEN DIFF with 3.73 gears if its the stock differential . If your planning on putting 35s you should regear the differentials to 4.10 or 4.56 or else you gonna lose alot of power.

andyblack, I plan on it when the cash flow is a little better but i ordered the tires today nothing spectacular 35/12.5/15 street snow (gotta have snow tires in north jersey)

I would think some Swampers for the marsh lands!

Hey on my truck the previous owner just put tilt steer in but now the steering wheel shakes but the column is still. Im sure it something stupid, its fine its just annoying when i drive it

The swap involves the bolts under dash (2) bolts at fire wall (3 I think) and the two on the rag joint. If your sitting still can you wobble the steering wheel?

If so then the little bolts inside are loose.

See being a paid member really does pay for itself in no time. I know money is tight when you start but it is the best chump change you will ever spend on your truck. Plus the force of the brotherhood is strong too!

Here is one off internet.
