Just bought a new gmc sierra! *trip report post 247*

In 96 there was a factory plastic tool box under the hood.

VERY short run, IIRC. But it was cool for basics.

Good to know! I'm going to just build one out of angle iron and sheet metal. The lid is the only thing I'm having trouble thinking of. All I really want to have in it is jumpers and a tow rope.

Is there any ammo can that would fit there? Paint it black, would be nice and watertight.

I have thought about that and I'm not quite sure. The problem is opening it. The windshield washer bottle is in the way in one spot and the fender brace is in the way in the other. I'll come up with something.

Here's another pic.

Doesn't look like a tight spot in the pics.

Maybe some sort of sliding top if it will get over the radiator hose.

Tomorrow will mark one year that i have had this truck. Its been a perfect truck for me for that time and i have loved every minute. It is the perfect truck for me and everything i do. Here is some recent pics.

The truck has been amazing and performed flawlessly for a little over 16k miles now. It still gets over 20mpg hiway below 60mph, and over 18 at 70mph. Overall running average for the year has been 14.8mpg. Not exactly stellar, but considering i would jump for joy to see that much out of any single tank in any other truck that i have owned, im pretty damn satisfied. I really love the truck and love that it does everything i wanted a truck to do. Drive beautifully, Get decent mpg, go "off road", be useful in everyday life like hauling the dogs or moving furniture/whatever, and be reliable.

You stop for a photo-op in an icy parking lot but don't do any donuts? What's wrong with you?

New avatar is sweet I miss my old 11 some was a fun truck and the 4wd was impressive how well it worked

Picked up an accessory for the bed today. 2012 Honda TRX250X. Got it for the wife. Now I gotta figure out what's for me!

That's wild. In other news, I picked up another quad yesterday! So the other one is for the wife and this one is for me. Bought both the same way I bought the truck. Model year old, new units. They were legitimately marked down $1200 and $1700 respectively. So I figured screw it. Might as well get a good deal on something I'm going to get eventually anyway.

Also, Sunday I'm going to buy my a trailer from my mom and step dad. So more pics to come. Looking forward to riding a lot this summer!
