just got back from local audio shop...

Well a friend and I went to one of our local audio shops.... He wanted to get a system up and running.. Well 1800 bucks later he is one very happy camper......

Here is what he got..
kenwood excelon cd/mp3 head unit (dont remember the model number)
jl audio 500.1 amp
jl audio 12w3 (two of them)
4 guage power for jl amp..
8 guage power for sony amp he already had
sub box
all rca, power, ground, etc... (come with kit)

and they installed all of it for him....

All of this is in and 98 extra cab chevy pickup... you want to talk about vibrating you do death.... All I got to say is this...

$1800 i would think that you could have got ten times better subs and amp for that price

Try MMATS, or Treo Engineering.

The MMATS are designed for spl only... The new jl audio w7 has a longer exersion then the mmats, and is a SQ woofer that can out perform the mmats in spl and sound quality.. If you do not believe what i am saying check into the 12w7... it has over 3 in throw.. there is not another 12 out there that can match that..

I'll check out the 12w7, have you heard of Treo Engineering ???? At the moment Treo's are my number 1 choice.

Man I am not even going to go deep into this but I sell JL and I wouldn't have it in my vehicle. The W7 is a good sq sub but it isn't a spl driver and my Crossfire XT still kicks the W7 ass in SPL and it is half the cost.

Just my .02 from a person that sells JL and not just another Joe.
