this is a customers m1031. now has a 4" rough country lift. all new. new rancho shocks. rides like a tank. rode better stock. this normal? i dont have experience with this lift kit..

second thing. did the king pins bearings seals races. pulles to the right pretty good.. checked it all. seems fine.. tires are h1 rims with 36" wrangler tires..whats am i missing? thanks again :waytogo:

The company's name says it all "rough" country

x2 . my buddy has there 6" full spring kit. full oad stacked fire wood in bed to top of cab roof barly made the springs move.

rotate tires left to right on front see if pulls left. if not then try front to back . if not then problem some place else.

thats why there so cheap i guess. ill swap the tires? whats that going to do? they have bbs in them

Rough country kits are HARSH.

Upgraded shocks will take, like, 10% of the harshness out.
(Only because it limits the spring reaction.)

I had a 6" SkyJacker kit on my Blazer, and good gawd did it ride stiff.
Put some Bilstein 5100's on it rode a lot better.

The least amount of Ply's in the tire as possible will soften it a bit, too.

As for the pull...
If it didn't have one before, I.e., that is exaggerated now, by the lift;
I would say, from experience, check the Calipers.

The calipers on my blazer always had bad seals, or the fluid was dirty, etc.
This would cause one piston to expand, and drag.... Hence the pull.
It even changed sides sometimes.

Food for thought, for after you move the tires around.

moving the tires did nothing. could be calipers. didnt think of it. seemed fine before

It could be the caster is off now that its been lifted...was a dropped pitman arm or block installed with the lift also?..

I had a friend who put a lift kit in his K5 (had some guys help him that had done a few before actually)--and it pulled to one side after they were done,he tried having it aligned after determining the brakes were not dragging, etc, and the shop called him to tell him they found one of the springs was installed wrong side forward, evidently the center bolts aren't exactly in the middle of the springs by not a great amount, and it was easy to overlook.....this was some 20 years ago,I dont recall which of the springs it was they had to flip around to correct it..

I'll play the obvious card. After a lift install and a complete tear down to do kingpins it could just need to be aligned.

put the two rear tires on the front.. seems fine now. how can that be?

Its cause those 36s. Bias ply peices of carp, yes cheap but they are terrible on the road. Worst tire I have ever ran on the road, and I have run swamper sxs.

I bet if you put some different tires on it would make a difference

And ditto on the lift, those ride like crap

Rough country are pretty still. Tuff country easy rides are one of the best springs to use. Stiffer than stock but not super harsh. Those bias ply tires are junk on road. Kind of a Directional tread and were made for off road. The radial mil tires were much better on road but not great in the mud. Sand were good though. Check to make sure the tread is going all the same direction. If I remember correct if one is off it can pull the steering. Also if they are worn out more on one side or rim is bent it can pull. I have a heavier ranching front spring but it helped it ride better with a heavier front bumper and a inch longer front shackle kit from ord.

Tire balance won't cause a pull but any uneven wear on the tires can. It if the two front tires have a different amount of tread.

tossed on a set of 37" ssrs.. straight as a arrow. no pull. hope he buys them off me

welcome to the wonderful world of lifted trucks. As stated b4,bias plys are good...for offroad. I've got a ROUGH country lift. Rode like ****, put bilstiens on and rides OK now. If you have bad vibrations, check the rear driveshaft angles and joints, otherwise have the alignment shop check tow and alignment. FYI I balanced my 37's with Equal bead/pellet packs. I never even bothered with balance weights and all that mess. Hope you get it figured out.

i have a rough country 4" on my k5 and i think it rides great. actually rides better than my buddies k20 that has tuff country springs. his truck feels like a buckboard wagon going down the road.
as far as the pull is concerned the tires wore in with the old bad alignment and now that everything is nice and tight the are not sitting flat anymore. thats causing the pull.
