Here is my blazer hanging from the ceiling in my basment! I plan on cleaning up the bottom side and painting it with POR-15.

Sorry dude, you would never see me under that thing! That doesn't look safe at all!!!

x4. says something about the quality of construction of your house though.

X5 SAFETY FIRST. We don't want to read about you in the paper.

Mike

I would be interested in seing a picture of the joists or beams that is suspended from.

I wouldn't get under it either.

Either put blocks or jacks under it or lower it back to the floor. You're looking good on the candidate list for the Darwin Awards.

Thanks for all of the concern fellas! Don't worry I'm not getting under it like that. It is safely back on the floor. Those are the picks from when I pulled out the chasis. I will put a back up on it like jack stands or something before I climb under it. As for rustbullet I already bought the POR. Check out my frame in my other thread and tell me what you think. Thanks again guys!

Would you link your other thread so lazy butts like me don't have to go looking?

I'm looking at doing POR15 to mine as well. Mostly because it's a flat black finish, rather than that silver color.

Anyone done this with the body on the frame still? I have nowhere to hoist my body and do all that extensive work.

POR-15 is actually very shiny but i'm sure that won't last on the undercarage. And what every you do...if you are going to paint above you at all with this stuff....cover your skin (face too). POR-15 doesn't come off your skin with anything. Maybe a wire brush and some goof off but I would rather have black speckels all over. If you are going to do the underside of your blazer just wash her real good and get all the grease etc off. It has instructions on the can on how to prepare the surface. One quart goes a long way. I bought three and now everytime I walk past something that could be painted I think about using the POR because I only used 1/2 a quart on the frame. lol....

Yeah I was just going to buy one quart and use a air compressed paint gun to spray it on. I dunno how well that will work with the exhaust, driveshaft, t-case, tranny, engine, etc. in the way....

It won't go nearly as far in a spray gun and you have to thin it down also. I like using a brush because you can "work it" on to the surface better. And don't forget any overspray will be on what ever it sticks to forever. I don't know much about spray guns but can you spray straight up with them?
