Just one more reason why 10 bolts rule!

CARNAGE!!....ouch

When I fragged my 12 bolt I had alot of pieces...but that was just the R&P......not the carrier! That thing is toast!

continueing to drive it after it had exploded.
"surging"

the housing must look cool as well

im2hi4u had the same carnage on his 10bolt gov loc

I think it was exploding as i backed down the driveway, then i mutilated it when i hit the gas to go after i got down my driveway.

Good job man, i wish i coulda did that to my 10 bolt and my 12 bolt before i got the 14ff, Isnt it funny how GM quotes 1000 bucks to fix that when you can get a 1000 times stronger rearend for about 200 bucks,

Well the funny thing is is that my dad owns a GM dealership, and that is OUR cost on the parts. It would have been at least $1500 in parts plus labor. And no one at the shop thinks i can swap in a 14B FF, so i kinda of have to do it to prove em all wrong. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

LMAO. doesnt sound like much of a "Shop" if they dont think you can do that... what kinda shop is this? a wood shop? Please do it and prove them wrong, then post what they say about it

They don't think a 14 bolt FF can be swapped into a Blazer ??? Tells ya about the thinking of most dealership mechanics. I've ran into a few. For some reson they can't get the modification thing to register. If it's not factory original, it won't work thinking out of thier head. Now I'm not saying all Mechanics working at dealerships think that way couse I know a few that build hot rods and 4x4's, but I've ran into a few that can't quite comprehend the whole modification concept. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

I think that they have been working on these cars so long and they seem to think stock is best. Well mine is going to be stock, just your standard 1 ton rear end. I just hope I can figure out how to get this thing to 6-lug, I saw one in the back of a newer lifted Tahoe the other day that was 6-lug. Wish i could find the owner, hmmmm...

Yeah i probably could, they have a few scraches though from the balancer and my carelessness when taking off the studs with the impact wrench. I even have an 8 lug front 10 Bolt i could get.

Alot of places that sell used rims will trade you strait acrost. I've bought used rims that you couldn't tell wern't new.

lol your set man, get the 10 bolt front, sell your rims for 500? or more, buy a 14ff for 250-300 then get some cheap 8 lug rims, and your rollin stronger (in the rear) then you were before,

I'd still look for a Dana 60 while you're at it. If you've got access, why not.

Yeah, but i just spent $700 in March on new wheels cause my olds one wouldnt let the studs go all the way through.

[/ QUOTE ] Whew! That's a pretty expensive soloution to a simple problem. Didja know that you can buy wheel studs in various lengths? /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif It woulda been way cheaper to just replace the studs. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif But then, maybe ya just needed an "excuse" to buy those fancy wheels! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

We searched for over 2 weeks tryin to find longer front studs. We couldnt find em anywhere, but i do have a set of longer rear ones sitting in my garage.
